Staff moves from Administration to ... People

by Dale Shaw 2. January 2012 19:52
A small change but ... STAFF has moved.   I could not think of anything else to put under Administration and so ... Admin has disappeared from the left hand 'sidebar' toolbar.  Staff has moved under People. No ... it does not have a spot anywhere on top toolbar.   Dale

Contract HOLD and ROR in contracts list

by Dale Shaw 23. December 2011 14:16
Hold and ROR have been part of SIGNZ since ... a long time.   However, they have never appeared in Contracts listing until now.  Some of the data was there, some not.  So we have added it.  If ANY bookings are on Hold or ROR then the flag will show in the list.  Naturally the position of these columns will depend on your setup (they will default to the last columns on the right). Stages automated ... ever so slightly

by Dale Shaw 23. December 2011 13:30
'Stages' have always been an issue for me.   Stages were originally created as a way to manually set the stage a contract was at ... 'manager signoff required', 'production', etc.   A few customers had Stage automated in SIGNZ 3 so that the Stage would change based on activity on the Stages tab but most did not see the Stages tab.   For these customers the Stage never DID anything and so I wanted to either kill it off or make it change automatically.  So we have automated it. When you create a contract we set the stage to 'new / entry' or whatever you want to call it.  We can then make it so most people cannot manually change the Stage. When you print a contract the stage will jump to a Printed / Issued stage. When you Confirm a contract it can automatically change the stage to something that means Confirmed / Signed. These settings are controlled via Table Editor. Dale

Credit approval settings

by Dale Shaw 18. December 2011 12:08
Credit Approval in SIGNZ 3 was on / off and that carried across to SIGNZ 4.  Either a company was 'locked' in terms of credit hold or it was open to be used.  Nothing in between. The new settings have been expanded to allow SOME actions.  This means we can let reps create and print contracts (with a 'subject to approval' watermark, perhaps) while the approval process continues.  However, installation, production, invoicing and creditors functions will be halted.  Settings will allow a 'not approved' status which will still allow you to place a complete 'stop credit' on a client to prevent new contracts. http://help.signz.co.nz/index.html?creditsettings.htm   Dale

Creating new companies / Credit Approval

by Dale Shaw 18. December 2011 10:36
The argument has always been there - Should reps be able to create new companies? We have recently added a raft of new features to help here: 1) A new permission per CompanyType.  This means that I can allow a rep to create Direct companies or even Prospects but not Owners or Agencies or Installers. 2) When creating companies a rep will be assigned to the company (and can't change it) 3) Company will be marked as 'not credit approved' (IF that is the default) and the rep won't be able to change it.   (See Credit Approval Settings blog or http://help.signz.co.nz/index.html?creditsettings.htm in the Help)       DS

Merge in Avails

by Linley Parry 12. December 2011 14:42
A small but popular item from SIGNZ 3 has now been implemented into SIGNZ 4 - the Merge option in the Avails search. It is easily ticked on/off in the search options, giving you the ability to view contracts in block bookings, instead of being divided into each period.  This can make it easier to view the details for each booking at a quick glance.

Combined sales AND occupancy

by Dale Shaw 6. December 2011 18:12
New reporting tools added to SIGNZ recently allow us to create reports with both sales data AND occupancy. At present these are only available to 'custom' reports but will soon be added to a standard 'pivot' report.     Dale

Reports via Email

by Dale Shaw 23. November 2011 16:11
Hi Well, we have been playing with reporting tools recently and have completed the tools required for us to create quite complex emails and attachments based on the SIGNZ reporting tools.  The primary reason was to give us a better way to send things like 'contracts expiring this month' to a rep, or 'owner leases requiring renewal' without having to write new tools every time someone wanted to change the data or layout. The side-benefit is being able to create and email sales reports, etc. without requiring lots of new code for each new requirement. See: http://www1.signz.co.nz/help/product%20updates/Report%20Changes%20-%20Nov%202011l.pdf for an overview. Some sample screen shots including an email with embedded chart, a detailed PDF and a screen shot of the editing of the email template are shown here: http://www1.signz.co.nz/help/product%20updates/sample%20report%20email.pdf Dale
