'Stages' have always been an issue for me.
Stages were originally created as a way to manually set the stage a contract was at ... 'manager signoff required', 'production', etc.
A few customers had Stage automated in SIGNZ 3 so that the Stage would change based on activity on the Stages tab but most did not see the Stages tab.
For these customers the Stage never DID anything and so I wanted to either kill it off or make it change automatically. So we have automated it.
- When you create a contract we set the stage to 'new / entry' or whatever you want to call it. We can then make it so most people cannot manually change the Stage.
- When you print a contract the stage will jump to a Printed / Issued stage.
- When you Confirm a contract it can automatically change the stage to something that means Confirmed / Signed.
These settings are controlled via Table Editor.
